Marv Machura

Western Canadian Roots

Biography

Marv Machura, described by Penguin Eggs Magazine as a "winning singer and talented guitar player," is a veteran singer-songwriter, guitar-player and performer.

Following the musical tradition of contemporary folk-roots artists like Fred Eaglesmith, Steve Earle, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian Tyson, and John Denver, Machura's music and live act have a wide demographic appeal.

Audiences are drawn to Machura’s clear, expressive vocals and dynamic guitar playing on a range of original and cover tunes.

His two critically acclaimed discs (2003, 2004) have been supported by radio stations across Alberta and have landed significant air and internet radio play in Europe and the USA. Although he has published over 20 songs in Nashville, Machura is primarily known as narrative singer-songwriter and guitar-player whose music continues to define the Western Canadian experience.

Machura has been performing for over twenty-five years; with the release of his two latest discs, he shows no sign of slowing down!

He continues to perform, tour, record, and bring music to the people.

Note: Machura is pronounced Ma-chúra, as in “mature-a.”
